For this activity, we need one A4 sized white sheet, ruler, black marker pen, pencil, crayon and scissor. Let’s start the activity.
Step 1: Take the A4 sized white sheet of paper and draw parallelogram ABCD.
Step 2: Now, carefully cut out the parallelogram with the help of pair of scissors.
Step 3: Now, using a ruler draw a perpendicular AE on DC.
Step 4: Now, colour the triangle ∆ACE with yellow and rest of parallelogram with red colour.
Step 5: Then cut out the triangle with the help of scissors and move the triangle to the other side of parallelogram.
NOW WHAT SHAPE IS THIS?
Yes! It is a rectangle
So, area of parallelogram = area of rectangle
And we know, area of rectangle = length x breadth
In case of parallelogram base is length of rectangle and height is breadth of rectangle
Area of parallelogram = base x height.
